April 2025 – A Month of Exploration Behind the Lens
What an incredible month April has been—packed with variety, creativity, and some seriously inspiring shoots. I spent much of it diving deep into my new Nikon Zf, experimenting with an array of lenses including the 40mm f/2, 24-70mm f/4, 85mm f/1.8, and 35mm f/1.8. Each lens offered something unique, allowing me to explore a broad range of photographic styles and subjects.
From candid street photography to high-speed motorbike racing with a friend, and even stepping back in time at a 1940s vintage festival in Chesterfield—this month pushed me to see and shoot differently. The vintage event was a standout, full of character and nostalgia, with the town transformed into a vibrant scene straight out of the wartime era.
Landscape photography also played a big part in April. I made the most of the stunning spring light here in the UK, heading out to the Peak District four times in a single week. The golden hour conditions were absolutely perfect—rolling hills, dramatic skies, and that soft, warm glow that makes everything come alive.
And yes, I may have found a new favorite in the Nikon 85mm f/1.8—its sharpness and dreamy bokeh made portraits and tighter shots a real joy.
All in all, April was a month of creative energy, experimentation, and rediscovering the magic of photography across different genres.
